Day 48 — Dinnertime, Lunchtime
November 18, 2009
I posted early on about the sling that allowed me to be hands-free… and Lil and I continue to love it! I find it very comfortable, and Lil seems to as well:
Last night, I even tested it out as I prepared dinner. Lil slept away peacefully in the sling while I chopped veggies and seasoned steaks… of course, I took her out when I actually got down to the cooking so as not to splatter anything on her, but it was great to be able to multitask for a while. (Lil’s cinnamon bun hair pattern has persisted as seen in the photo below… unrelated, but also: I look pretty happy to be chopping broccolini, no?)
So technically those photos are still from day 47, so here is day 48: Lil and I were ladies that lunch today, meeting a few other new Hoboken momsfor a lunch at a local wine bar (my kind of lunch!) On the walk over, Lil looked so cute sleeping away in her stroller:
She slept for a while even in the restaurant, and then stirred wanting her bottle (hey — mama had HER bottle, Lil wanted hers!) So no fuss, no muss… she chowed down and then just hung out, quietly people watching with excellent table manners until we left our new friends and walked home through the park.
I think it definitely helps that Lil (to date) has managed to keep it together for such outings. I really hope that “Chill Lil” stay that way — it’s nice to be able to bring her places and enjoy ourselves while out and about.
